CM School Of Media Studies (CMSOMS)

The department of Mass Communication and Journalism strives to mould media enthusiasts into professional journalists by imparting the required skills. We do this through a holistic approach that combines theoretical and practical concepts. Our department provides a 3 year course related to mass communication with the intent of making one aware of the various nuances of the media industry. This has been made possible with the availability of full fledged faculties and a Media lab ILA (Infinite Land of Art) for practical classes. Apart from that the department conducts an annual media program called AYKYA. This programme caters to those aspiring to be film directors and involves film festivals / competitions at the inter/ intra college level. To top it all, the department provides placement for those who complete the three year course The scope of the three year program is such that one has a wide range of career options to choose from. This ranges from being a VFX editor to being a wildlife photographer. Apart from that, oppurtunities exist in the public sector as a mass communication graduate is eligible to join the Indian Information Service. There is also ample scope for research with many of the Alumini of this department pursuing their higher education at state/central universities.
